Katie Spielberg, Ph.D. is a Principal on the Investment Team at 5AM Ventures, based in the Boston, MA office. Dr. Spielberg is currently a Board Member or Observer for Lifordi Immunotherapeutics, GlycoEra and a stealth 4:59 newco. She was named the New England Venture Capital Association’s 2024 Rising Star VC.

Prior to joining 5AM, she completed both a postdoctoral fellowship and a Ph.D. in the Bioengineering department at Stanford University. As a recipient of the Hertz Foundation Fellowship and Stanford Graduate Fellowship, her research focused on how bacterial viruses help the immune system clear bacterial infections. Dr. Spielberg’s work has been published in Cell Systems and Nature Chemical Biology among others. She received her B.S. in Biological Engineering from MIT with Tau Beta Pi honors.

Dr. Spielberg enjoys watching Boston Ballet performances and is the New Member Co-Chair of the Boston Ballet Young Partners Council.
